A Clean Cat Is a Happy Cat

B: This is the shampoo I use to give Lacey a bath. It seems to work pretty well. The first time I used it I didn't read the part that says to massage the shampoo into their fur for 3-5 minutes. As it turns out, that seems to be Lacey's favorite part. I take her out of the tub when I put the shampoo in then put her back in to the tub to wash it off. Good luck with Moose A!

birthday flowers

A: my birthday present from the best boyfriend this side of the west. red velvet cake from scratch, yellow AND white tulips {my fave!}, ceviche for dinner, back massages...he really did good. and I've had the best 25th birthday a girl could ask for.

happy birthday to me!

A: it's me! twenty five years ago. this picture was taken in Boca Grande. the best place on earth.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday A! Even though it's technically not your birthday quite yet here, it is where you are. I guess that's one of the perks of a 3 hour time difference. I hope you have a wonderful day!

good night

A: this is what is on my bedside table right now. a copy of Real Simple magazine, which is wonderful, our new back massage-y thing, my nalgene, the clock and the lamp. it's after 11, and I'm tired.

Lacey's Tag Finally Came!

B: It's the same as the old one, just not lost. Here she is wearing it and attempting to drink out of my glass like a bad girl.

turkey burgers

A: we made turkey burgers for dinner last night. yum! we spiced them up with rosemary, oregano, coriander, garlic power, onion powder, black pepper, and sea salt. then topped them off with a little dash of worcestershire sauce. then we topped them with lettuce, tomato, avocado, red onions and colby jack cheese. all finished on a whole wheat potato bun. I honestly prefer regular meaty burgers, but these were yummy!

blurry me

A: taking pictures of myself never work out well.

only fitting...

A: ...since Gasparilla is this weekend. here is a picture of us at the Pirate Invasion. I'm guessing we were in 7th grade? hm...looks as though big sweatshirts and flannel were in that year.

The Easiest Chili Recipe Ever

B: Brown ground beef or turkey (shown with turkey) in pan. Add a can of kidney beans, two small cans of tomato sauce, and a pack of McCormick Chili Seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes. Serve with grated cheese and crackers if desired. Recipe also available on the back of the seasoning packet.

tough guy

A: here is Moose being a tough guy. he and my boyfriend play all the time. this is the stance that Moose gets. the funniest thing about it it, he is so much smaller but yet thinks of himself as a vicious beast. what a silly kitty. the top picture is my view and the bottom picture is his.

B: Last night as I lay in bed desperately attempting to fall asleep after accidentally taking my non-drowsy medicine instead of the drowsy kind, I heard Lacey making these weird scratching noises. I looked over only to find she had forged her way in between my hubby's 2 pillows. Here she is, sleeping peacefully. And to think we used to torture Pumpkin by putting him under covers.

yellow mums

A: I buy the flowers, he takes the pictures. he is definitely a better photographer than me. I'm more of the point and shoot type. he is the focus/light/zoom/other camera technology type. here are the mums I bought from Fresh Market the other day.

Lacey has a New Collar Too!

B: Lacey's previous collar managed to disappear. I'm not really sure where it could have gone since she doesn't go outside, but after a month of searching I finally gave in and bought her a new one. The old one was catsafe and came off really easily. This one will still come off if necessary, but it's a bit tighter. I ordered her new tags, but they still haven't come in the mail. I'll probably find her old tags the day after the new ones get here.

kitty has a new collar

A: I couldn't resist this collar. he looks so cute with it on!! after moose almost choked himself on the other collar, we decided to wait until he was bigger to put a collar on him. I saw this one at pet smart and thought we could buy it and wait till he grew into it. well, my boyfriend, being the crafty guy that he is, cut the collar, made it smaller and super glued it back together! so, now moose has a collar! he didn't like it for the first twenty minutes or so of trying to get it off, but now he doesn't seem to know it's even there.

the infamous "in motion shot"

ten years ago...

A: here we are, ten years ago, taking pictures for our ad in the 8th grade yearbook. we took an entire roll of film, in which I think we actually liked two of the pictures. this was a rejected shot. I don't think I have ever looked at a photo of myself before and thought, wow, I look so young. now that I'm just short of turning 25, I think I'm beginning to realize, that I'm growing up.

I'm Sickly

I woke up this morning feeling awful. Thankfully it snowed today and I didn't have to go to work. It seems like my hubby managed to give me his sinus infection before he left town. The worst part is that he's not here to take care of me. That and my nose is raw from blowing it all day.

when we were young...

A: we did silly things. here is the best cure of boredom: a camera, makeup, and a sense of humor. B and I were the best at it. this particular day, I twisted B's hair up into tiny little bobs, and she twisted mine, then we ran around the house being silly and taking funny pictures. this almost beats the spite and mallice/soothers night.

Olde Times

B: This is such a good look for you A! You really should do it more often. I bet you could get straight superiors in States playing it if you dressed up so nice.

For Sale

B: We've decided to sell our 2000 Altima. My husband's deploying in about a month and I won't need 2 cars to drive while he's gone. I'm giving up and when he gets back I'm letting him buy a truck. Even though I don't like trucks, I love him that much. So if anyone is interested, let me know.

TTFN

hi
My hubby leaves late tonight for a 10 day trip. Here's his clothes I'm in midst of packing up for him.

Bathe Your Cat

When I first got Lacey, I swore I was going to be one of those amazing cat owners that gave their cat a bath and brushed their teeth. I attempted to bathe her after having her for about 2 weeks and she hated it, but they say that's to be expected. I tried again about 3 weeks after that, but once again she was not going for it. I had sort of given up, but my allergies have really been bothering me lately. Thursday night as I had coughing fits while watching Grey's Anatomy, I decided Lacey needed a bath and I would do it the next day. I ended up jumping out of bed and deciding to stop procrastinating. This time I wisely used the tub with about 4 inches of water in it and a cup to poor it on her (I had attempted using the sink previously since she was so small). I wouldn't say Lacey liked it, but I held her in there by the scruff of her neck and she tolerated it. She definitely enjoyed it when I scrubbed the shampoo into her fur and purred the whole time I held her in a towel afterwards to dry her off. So here's a picture of Lacey about half way through the drying process. I had brought my portable heater into the bathroom and she's basking in its warmth.

Wax On, Wax Off

B: The roads are all icy from the snowstorm that went through yesterday. My boss, who feels bad for the poor girl from Florida that doesn't know how to drive in the snow, told me to stay home today. Since BMW washed my car for me ($104 per hour for labor they better wash it), I decided today was the perfect day to wax it. Here it is after I finished putting the wax on.

Sledding Perhaps?

B: This is a picture is of my front yard this evening. We've had about 3 inches of snow in the past day with more expected tonight. It seems someone was having a good time in my front yard today. There's a little park across the street from my house and you can see lots of little trails in it too.

the lovely bayshore

A: I thought you would appreciate this B. everytime I would come home from college, I would just HAVE to drive down Bayshore at least once. Bayshore, for anyone who doesn't know, could quite possibly be the world's longest continuous sidewalk, measuring out to be 4.5 miles. great spot for runners, bikers, dog walkers.
so here is bayshore at dusk.

Snuggly

B: I can't believe it actually worked, but somehow my hubby managed to get my kitty inside his jacket. Somehow, he looks more excited about it than the cat.

clowns

A: here are my two men, clowning around as usual. we call moose a parrot, because he often sits on my boyfriend's shoulder. what a silly kitten.

twenty-more

after much frustration today, waiting for blogger to be up and running, Borda and I have finally started our blog. our blog, titled "twenty more" refers to the fact that we have known each other for twnety years, and we are ready to go for another twenty more. look for photos {old and new}, song lyrics, memories, shopping finds, interesting finds in our respecitve cities, and more. here's to another twenty years!
